When PokerStars launched the challenge #mychesspokergame on Twitter, I immediately looped through old ideas I had on adding some elements of chance into the chess game. I had not considered poker as the spicing element before, so it was a fun process to put together a simple set of rules that would effectively preserve the chess game while adding unpredictable excitement to the battles over the board.
